Menopause…. Steals your figure, steals your sleep and then your mood, patience and eyesight whilst eating the brain! As a 57 year old woman I was left with a lousy moustache, fast growing nasal hairs, a muffin top, 20 unfriendly extra kilos, rolls of back fat, incessant hot flushes, itchy skin and a million moods. Combine all that with a demanding job, dodgy, foggy memory and an endless need for naps, coffee, wine, sugar and carbs and I realised I was on a rollercoaster to nowhere fast.
Something triggered my brain to finally acknowledge that yes, I’ve had my children, I have a career, I have somewhat survived menopause but if I didn’t stop making excuses and look after myself, I seriously would jeopardise living a long and healthy life.
If you are anywhere near where I was some eight months ago (menopausal or not menopausal) it is time that you take stock of your worth as a woman and acknowledge that you are in need of some tender loving care.
